therapy for pastors and ministry leaders in vandalia and across illinois
Offering a space to process, rest, and be supported, from someone who understands the realities of ministry.
You spend so much of your life showing up for others—holding space, offering guidance, and carrying the weight of responsibility that comes with leadership.
But behind the scenes, it can feel different.
You may feel stretched thin, emotionally and spiritually tired, or like there’s little room for your own needs to be seen or supported. There can be pressure to stay steady, to have the answers, or to keep going even when you feel worn down.
At times, you might feel alone in what you’re carrying—unsure where you can be fully honest without feeling like you’re burdening others or stepping outside of your role. There may not be many places where you feel like you can simply be a person, rather than the one others depend on.
Even your relationship with God can feel impacted in these seasons—less like a place of rest, and more like something that feels distant, complicated, or hard to access in the same way it once was.
If this resonates, you’re not alone—and it makes sense that you would feel this way given all that you’re holding.
You don’t have to explain ministry life here.
Having served in ministry myself, I understand many of the unique pressures that come with caring for others while carrying your own burdens. I know what it can be like to hold space for people all week while wondering where your own struggles belong. My hope is to provide a place where you don't have to explain ministry culture before we can begin the real work of healing.
This may be a good fit if…
You spend so much time caring for others that you've forgotten how to care for yourself.
You feel emotionally exhausted but struggle to let others see it.
Ministry has become more about responsibility than joy.
You feel isolated because you're unsure who it's safe to be honest with.
Past experiences in ministry have left you carrying hurt, disappointment, or grief.
Your marriage or family has been affected by the demands of ministry.
You're longing to reconnect with God in a way that feels authentic rather than performative.
You want a therapist who understands ministry life without needing every detail explained.
A place where you are KNOWN before you’re NEEDED.
In our work together, you don't have to show up as the pastor, leader, or the one who has it all together. This is a space where you get to simply be a person—bringing whatever is true for you without pressure to filter, manage, or carry it well.
We'll slow things down and gently explore what you've been carrying—whether that's the weight of responsibility, emotional exhaustion, relational strain, or questions that feel hard to name out loud. Rather than pushing through or minimizing what you're feeling, we'll pay attention to what's happening beneath the surface, helping you better understand both your experience and what you may be needing in this season.
My approach is steady, present, and attentive, offering a place where you can feel supported without being evaluated or expected to have all the answers. As healing unfolds, we'll begin to untangle what feels heavy while helping you reconnect with yourself in ways that feel more sustainable, grounded, and life-giving.
Because faith is central to both your life and mine, it naturally shapes the way we approach our work together. My hope is to walk alongside you as you seek the Lord in the midst of what you're carrying, trusting that He is present in every part of your story and every part of the healing process.
We'll also explore your emotional, relational, and spiritual experiences—not as separate parts of your life, but as deeply connected. My hope is that therapy becomes more than a place to process difficult seasons. It becomes a place where you rediscover the freedom of being deeply known and loved by God, allowing that truth to shape the way you see yourself, your relationships, your calling, and the life He's invited you to live.

Yes—this is a fully confidential space where you can speak openly without concern about your role, reputation, or how things may be perceived.
I understand that for many pastors and leaders, it can feel risky to be fully honest about what you’re carrying. My role is to create a space where you don’t have to filter, manage, or hold things together—where you can simply be real about your experience and feel supported in it.
-
Yes. Through both my professional work and personal experience in ministry, I understand that this role carries a unique kind of weight—one that isn’t always visible from the outside.
There can be pressure to lead well, care for others, and remain steady, even when you’re feeling stretched thin yourself. You won’t have to explain or justify those dynamics here—I approach this work with an understanding of both the responsibility and the heart behind what you do.

In this space, you don’t have to take care of anyone else. You don’t have to lead the conversation, have insight ready, or show up in a certain way. We’ll move at a pace that feels comfortable, allowing you to gradually settle into what it’s like to be supported rather than being the one supporting others.

Will my faith be a part of the counseling process?
Because faith is central to both your life and mine, it naturally shapes the way we approach therapy together. My goal is to walk alongside you as you seek the Lord in the midst of your story, trusting that He is present in every part of the healing process.
Depending on your needs, this may include praying together, reflecting on Scripture, exploring biblical themes that speak to what you're experiencing, or considering how your understanding of God has been shaped by your past. Just as importantly, I believe the relationship we build in therapy can become a place where you experience greater safety, trust, and grace—offering a glimpse of the secure relationship God invites us into with Him.
Faith isn't something we add onto therapy. It's woven throughout the process as we pursue healing that brings greater freedom, deeper connection, and a fuller expression of who God created you to be.

You’re not alone in that—and it’s more common than many people realize, especially in seasons of stress, burnout, or transition.
This is a space where you can be honest about what you’re experiencing without fear of judgment or needing to have it resolved quickly. You don’t have to filter your thoughts or protect your role here.
Rather than trying to fix or push past those questions, we’ll make space to understand them—what’s behind them, what they may be connected to, and how they’re impacting you. Often, these seasons are less about losing faith, and more about needing space for it to be experienced in a more honest and sustainable way.
You won’t be pressured to land in a certain place. My role is to walk alongside you as you process, so your faith can feel more authentic, grounded, and your own.
